Susan has been the owner/manager of Gudgell Properties since 1992, handling commercial property management, property development, and vacation rentals. She is the team’s ‘jack of all trades,’ providing oversight for marketing, contracts, day-to-day operations, and more. She has a degree in English Literature from Whitman College and specializes in writing and editing copy. Susan served on the board of the Orcas Island Community Foundation from 2000 to 2009 in various roles including President, was President of the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce, and has volunteered extensively for various nonprofits. In her spare time, she continues to be interested in literature and writing, as well as gardening, building design, and boating. She and her husband Wally have three grown children, all raised on Orcas Island.
